As already stated, your problem is with the tension spring.
My suggestion is: take the spring from the separation pad and put the machine to work. Do not worry it will not jam. When you manage, go to the client and put a new spring.
I know I'll hear laughing (has happened before). Believe me it work fine.
I did this but still there was sound. As long as the same friction pad and feed roller were used then there will be sound. That's why there are modifications made.
