Hi there,

Iam new here. let me introduce myself first.
my name is john iam a student. I study electronics. next to my study I work with ricoh copiers.

But I've a problem since few days. I have a MPC3500 and I replaced the NVRAM.
When I did this few things went wrong.

First I downloaded the the settings to a SD card from the old nvram.
then placed the new NVRAM and uploaded to the new one.

My machine works fine now (making copie's). BUTT when I pres the Scan,Print,fax button. it doesn't work. The only thing it does is making a PIEPPIEP sound.

Is this because i need to upload a new firmware or..?

and a second problem: My total counter is been reset. is there anyway i can get it back?

You might have to enable the NIC and USB interfaces to get the print/scan features up and running - it's SP5-985. Unfortunately you can't transfer or edit the counter data but you might see the original counter at the service level - simply print out a set of SMC pages (SP5-990) and take a look at the logging data lists.

Why did you change the NV Ram in the first place?

thanks SP5-985 worked.
Why i changed the NVRAM was because sometimes it gave me a SC876 error. They (college) told me it must be the NVRAM so he told me to give my (broken) NVRAM and he gave me a new one. But that was not the problem. the problem was the HDD cable.

Best advice I can give you is to start from the easy options when fault finding, otherwise it can get unnecessarily expensive...
