hi, i have another problem with my ricoh aficio 1035. i always clean the recycling part of the drum unit after 5,000 copies because of the toner stock up which causes dirt to the copies. i already lowered the temperature of the fusing and even changed 2209 to 150 but it didnt solve the problem. please help. i keep on cleaning it every week.

Could be a Cleaning Blade problem. How many has the PCU done?

If you're getting copy quality issues a lot on these machines, do a FULL PCU rebuild: drum, charge roller, cleaning roller and blade. Might not hurt to replace the developer as if the dev's on it's way out, it could be overtoning. That should sort you out. Also, are you using OEM toner? The Adonis is a dirty bugger at the best of time, won't do it any favours if you're not feeding it premium carbon black.

Sounds like the toner collection coil behind the blade is not turning, allowing the buildup. The gear on the end of the coil is most likely rounded out on the end of the shaft or the coil itself broke off.

To be sure, like Teebee said, replace the whole PCU. Then you should be out of trouble.

dont forget to also clean the mag rollers on the development unit fully, this eliminates 80% of dirty copies....

hi thank you for your solutions. i have more than 20units of aficio 1035 and 2035 and most of it has the same problem of toner stockup. based on my observation the toner builds up on the metal paddle (dont know the correct part name for it) behind the blade and it doesnt go to the recycling spring so it can go back to the dev unit. the gears are ok but im not using oem toner. im using what they call class A replacement toner. when i open the plastic cover on top where the drum unit handle is attached, there are less toner on the recycling spring but the metal paddle is overloaded with toner and some toner are a little bit hardened already. i keep on servicing it weekly. too much time spent on servicing this problem. causes dirt on the copy and sc350.

20 units all doing the same thing and compatible toner? Thats' where I'd start, a complete PCU rebuild (or better yet new PCU), and OEM toner only. I would never use a generic toner in any Ricoh machine, you're just asking for headaches like this.

If the toner builds up in the recycling section, clean it properly by removing the toner collection coil behind the toner mylar.Paper dusts accumulate at the end of the toner collection coil thus blocking the recycled toner.(see attached picture)

Is the toner mylar in the recycling section still good?

agree with teebee and i want to add this try turning the collection coil manually if it is turning freely , if not check for the bushing.

yes the toner mylar is still ok. i cleaned the toner collection coil and the toner mylar including all the gears. it seems that the toner in the toner mylar section doesnt transfer to the toner collection coil so it can go back to the dev unit. thank you for the picture.
im quite confused about the name of the parts. collection coil for me is the long spring while the toner mylar is the metal with an attached plastic like an acetate. sorry for my ignorance.
i even replaced all the grears and plastic bushing at both ends of the toner mylar but it was not the solution.

Remove PCU end cap (4 screws). pull the metal piece at the end of the recycle coil out .5 inch and remove the fibers or hairs from the coil. Filbers, paper dust and hair will not allow the recyced toner to pass.
