    SD card scanning error

I'm posting this as both a question, and advice, if anyone else experiences or has experienced this problem.....
I recently setup a Ricoh MP161 just for my own use. I had all features working properly (Print/ scan/etc.) at my shop on my windows XP system, but not on Windows 7, which I have seen several times. I received the error "Sending failed. Check settings...." I updated the firmware so as to make the machine compatible for SMB scanning to windows 7, but this didn't solve the problem, on either my laptop, or my PC. I tinkered with it for hours with no success. A few days later, I acquired another MP161 which scanned with no difficulty at all.
ISo, I've now isolated the problem to be with the SD card. I guess there is a file corrupted or something (??)
Again, I just wanted to point out that this can occur- probably on just about any model, but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this, or found a solution outside of purchasing a new card. It's not the end of the world if I have to, it just seems a bit strange.
And "yes" , I have performed a complete system reset as well.

Yes. I tried both ways, and the card simply doesn't work properly in any other machine it seems.

I agree. That's why I decided to post this simply as something to look out for, in hopes that it may save someone some time in the future. I know it will me, if it happens again.
          Cheers!

Try Scandisk on Windows or some Disk Sector Recover in your SD Card.

Thanks for that. Worth a try, but didn't do the trick

Have you tried using the IP address for the Win7 machine instead of hostname? I have found that it works sometimes, even if the connection test fails it will still scan to folder on some set ups.

Yes, as I said above, I've connected several of these machines in the past, and I did get this machine to work by using another SD card, and then tried this card in the other machine and it failed there too.
It is definitely the card, and not me......... for a change

                    Re: SD card scanning error

This is probably old news, but was the SD card formatted with Panasonic SDFormatter? There were problems updating firmware on Ricohs back in the day until we started using that instead of the Windows format utility.
