    Ricoh 3006 - SC320 Error

Hi, we have a SC320 funtional problem code on our Ricoh 3006. Knowing it has to do with the polygon mirror motor. Could any one should us how to find that unit and to replace it? We are an educational charity. Thanks for your generous help.

The polygon is located in the laser unit obviously. Even though you are a non profit organization, companies send competent technicians to school and spend tons of money on them to make problems like this easy to handle. Doing it yourself can cause headaches not only for you but also for the tech who has to come and figure out what you did. Especially when he could have had it fixed quickly in the first place. I also understand how money just doesnt grow on trees, but you should talk to the manager at a Ricoh dealer and let them know your situation so they can help you quickly. Myself being a certified Ricoh tech, have no problem helping non Ricoh techs figure out issues, as long as they are techs, and have knowledge of another brand to pass along to me. JLYK

Thanks for the quick reply. We tried to schedule an appt with the service company, but the earliest available date is so far away and we need to copy stuffs for our students. So we were trying to see if we can do it ourselves....

If I were you I would contact Ricoh directly and complain about the poor turn around. Most repair centers will boast a 48 hour turn around.
