Hi all, I'm not a tech but...
I've been experiencing the problem of my AP3800 constantly loading toner (magenta) and eventually going to "add toner - magenta" despite there being plenty of toner in the cartridge.
I read this thread, and this one, and one on another forum.
I've checked that the dev unit is spinning, then I did a forced toner refresh to no avail, then started to take things apart to check the pipes etc. When I removed the cover below the toner cartridges, I could feel a solid block of toner in one of the white pipes coming from the magenta. I cleared it by pulling off the pipe and gently rolling it between thumb and finger over the hoover nozzle.
When I reassembled everything and switched on, the machine went to "loading toner" and then back to "add toner". When I went to open up the machine again there was toner all over the place!. And yes, I had put the pipe back on securely - this photo, showing where the blockage was, was taken after the spillage.
I don't have a clue what to do next - but I do have another complete machine for spares...
Any help / advice / suggestions much appreciated.
Please bear with me if I do not respond immediately - I have to be up for work in less than 4 hours time
TIA
