[Jamming] MPC6501 Jamming

Working on a MPC6501 that jams on the first page only when you staple 8 1/2 landscape. The first page goes about 3/4 into the stacking tray then it jams. I have notice that the stacking guide do not move all the way close to the paper, there is about 1/4" on either side of the page. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

What finisher is on the copier? Is it the SR3000 type booklet finisher?

First thing I'd check is the side fences on the 8 1/2 paper tray, sounds daft but I have had problems whereby the customer has tried to move the fence with it in the "locked" position causing it to skip a few teeth. This then means the paper is fed through off centre and goes through the copier ok but jams in the finisher.
