Aficio 2016 - Dsm616

This machine gives me lots of headaches . . .
Nobody is printing print or copying, machine is simply in ready position. Then when I just open the cassette en close it again, the machines gives an spontaneous message in display to open the right cover and remove the paper ??. Again, no print or copy job is given. On de logging report it says an paper misfeed at power on. Even stranger because it does not always happen when the cassette is opened and closed. Customer complaines about this spontaneous messages. . .

Anyone a clue here . . ?

Looks like a loose paper sensor or loose sensor lever somewhere.

Agree, but checked/cleaned the sensors. Strange thing that only when I open/close a tray the message is coming . . .

Power on jam is caused by a momentary interruption of an interlock. Try shaking covers and see if you can make it occur.

Have a look at the door, see where the handle rotates on?
I have been advised that these machines break there quite a lot and becomes loose, not obvios until you inspect, it gives jams and obviously would give power on jams.

Power on jam is caused by a momentary interruption of an interlock. Try shaking covers and see if you can make it occur.

X2. the right side cover has a latch at the top front that breaks, showing a "close cover" or jam message.
