    [Jamming] ld425bw/mp2550

i have a mach that isnt switching to tray2 when tray1 is emptied.. tried new sensors, switching trays.. when tray 2 is (default) emptied, it will begin to pull from tray1. but not vise-versa. when tray1 is empty it still shows paper in tray and jams every time. the sensors for hieght limit on liftup are disconnected (another tech), reconnected, no change... any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time, Dan

I think your problem is with the paper sensor.
If you do not have any paper in tray 1 and still pull from tray 1 (and jams)... Thats because the machine "thinks" that it still have paper... So, something with the sensor is not right.
Empty the tray 1... what do you see in the panel? It still says that it have paper in the tray 1?

The paper end sensor isn't in the rear of the machine. It's just in front of the feed tyre, a black plastic wedge. If the machine still thinks there's paper in the tray when there isn't, there's a problem with that sensor.

I know where the paper end sensor is. maybe I didnt say it clearly... I swapped that sensor (the one located above the tray, with the black plastic flag that hangs down to pass thru the lift up tray when emptied) with one from back of mach. because I didnt have a new one on hand.

Are you sure that it is the same? Did you saw the part-numbers off the 2 sensores???

Do an input check for the sensor. toggle it with the black actuator. Maybe the actuator isnt falling into the tray slot when empty. When the actuator is into the slot, Paper empty) the actuator should enter the photocell.

When you get the jam when empty, what is the status of the flag? Is it hung up inside the machine and not falling back into place? I've had to replace some of these due to being broken/damaged or out of position.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.

update... tried new main board, sensors, liftup mech. flag for paper sensor is working. swapped trays. checked the wires. still have issue...... our shop guru, has been going and is stumped. what makes it even better it is not our machine so swapping the unit is outta the question.
