Printing Booklets from computer with a cover - MP7001

Hi - I'm one of the ones on the other end! I'm not awful though honest!

But I'm really struggling today. I'm print a 42 page document to a 7001 and I want it as an A5 booklet with a staple in the centre and a front cover.

But it keeps coming out, just the 10 pages, and no sight of my front page and second blank sheet (for the front to back onto) - basically the front cover is completely missing.

It is also not stapling or folding, so it's reducing the pages as it should, but they're coming out flat.

I've double checked the settings on both ends, and can't come up with a reason why it won't work. The document should redce to 11 A4 sheets, so it's not above the capacity for the stapler.

    Any advice?

    Sorted it!

I had got the machine tray 2 set to thick paper. It wouldn't combine that with booklet staple.

Wish it would've told me that though.... would've saved a lot of time and paper!!

I'm going to assume that you aren't having the same problems with copy jobs, therefore not a hardware problem.

If you are using the PCL driver make sure that in the "accessories" tab of the print driver properties, the correct finisher is selected. There are a number of different finishers available for that particular model of machine but only one has the booklet folding feature (the SR3020)

If all seems well with the driver but it still isn't playing ball, delete the driver and re-install but make sure the correct finisher is ticked in the accessories tab.

        Glad you figured it out!

That seems to be the norm for a lot of different brands; capable of reduction booklet finishing, but not with thick paper.

I just had this happen with a production model Konica - a c500 with a Fiery controller.
