Lanier LP138C Ricoh AP3800C lines on back of copies

Never saw this unit before, customer called with streaks on back of single sided copies.
Took out all the drums and dev units and vacuumed out the stray toner.
Still has about 1 1/2 in wide grayish streak down the middle of back blank side of copies.
Actual copies look fine on the front side.

Replace the transfer belt cleaning unit. (Or better, replace the whole machine because this one is pretty ancient.)

Thanks, I know what you mean about pretty ancient but since this customer is a realtor I don't think he will be replacing the whole printer anytime soon.
One more question, I found the part G107-3850 but how do I access it inside the machine to replace it (never had one of these apart until yesterday when I pulled the drums and dev units).
        thanks

The Cleaning Unit is attached to the Transfer Belt Assy by 1 screw. Replacing it is 5 minutes of work. Its located just above of the Waste Toner Tank.

Thanks, also is there a trick to pulling out the transfer unit. I had the pcu cover out of the way and the release lever turned but it would not seem to just pull out? the manual looks like it should just pull right out:
            1. Turn the lever counterclockwise (☛ 3.5 PCU AND DEVELOPMENT UNIT).
            2. Pull out the transfer unit until the entire unit is visible.

First, remove the Duplex Unit beneath the Transfer Belt (1 screw). Then remove two screws securing the Transfer Belt Unit and pull the unit out.

Sounds like you need a blade and brush in the transfer cleaning unit as mentioned. Just pull the transfer unit out, but leave it on the rails. The cleaning unit comes out by removing the screw on the lock lever. There are just 2 pins on the rear that slide into the rear frame. Easy in, easy out.

The 2 screws that Eric refers to look like they hold the front transfer unit cover on, but in fact they secure the assembly to the frame.
