    sc 220 on a mpc 5501

    In need of some ideas on a SC 220 on a MPC 5501. I'm meeting the tech at the account in abot 1 1/2 hrs. This is a reoccuring problem. The 1st time he had the problem all he had to do was re-seat the laser unit connectors. This time he has made several trips with no success. He has replaced the BICU, and the entire Laser Unit.
    Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated.

              manuals4you- Thanks, but I already have all the manuals this time around. When I need a manual you will be the first to know

              jonhiker- I did that today when I met the initial tech. at the account. Like I said he had already tried the laser unit and the BICU.
              This is a reoccuring problem. The 1st time he was there, he was able to reset the code by reseating all the connectors. This time he had to call me in after the laser unit and BICU.
              I feel like I'm shot gunning it but, I had him order the IOB and the Control Board.

                  You done the firmware before attacking it with any boards? There's an RTB for SC222 so it *could* be related?
                  It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                      Yes, firmware is always my first thing to try.

                      To date the laser unit, bicu, iob, and the control board have been replaced.

                      We are pulling the machine from the field and getting the customer a loaner.

                      This is going to be an interesting one. I will keep everyone posted
