      Windows based...

First step is to get your computer name. Right click the my computer and select properties to get the name. The name is everything before the first period. That is the first part of the path.

Create a folder on the root drive, usually (C: ) and name it scans. Make sure you share it and allow everyone.

Go to your machines address book and add a new user. Under the folder option type in the path. Lets say your computer name was: Ricohuser.domain.whatever

      Your path would be:

      \\Ricohuser\scans

Now you need to go to the folder authentication and type in your username and password you use to login to your computer. go back to the path section and click connection test to make sure it works.

Remember when you change your password on your computer, then you have to do it on the machine as well or it wont work. Normally I create a new username just for scanning and disable password changing for that account on the computer.

That's the basic crash course in how to do it.
