If you can connect to a laptop then the problem is not with the mfp. Can you ping the network gateway from the ping command in User Tools? Try using a switch instead of a hub (unless you were just interchanging the terminology).

We tried pinging several ips from the machine with no luck. While pluged in to the hub.

        Here was the fix.
Had to turn off Auto on the Network speed and go to 10mb works fine now.

The only possible equipment conflict I could find was that they where using a router as a switch and someone told me that could cause problems.
By using the router as a switch I mean the lan line from the sonic wall was plugged into port one of the router not the network port.
