    MPC2500 Operation Panel Discolouration

Anyone seen this before? Didn't get a chance to pull it apart to see what was going on, but im thinking it could be the fluro tube in the LCD may be overheating causing the plastic to discolour. The top of the screen did feel warmish, but the touch screen is completely functional and clear to look at. They are a "Do and Charge" customer and dont like me doing or charging unless they think there is some issue ( no matter how many times I tell them it will save them $ in the long term).

    CAUSE

The adhesive that binds electrodes to the touch panel
    surface contains a polymer
that tends to expand under normal office
    environmental conditions
    and
The adhesive was changed to one
that will not expand under conditions of
    standard office environments

Good thinking but its not that, as I said the touch screen functions fine. Ive had to change my fair share of those before and I've never seen one turn the plastic yellow. But it does bring up the point that if it is heat that is causing the discolouration then why isnt it causing the touch screen to fail?

That does look heat related, but is the copier near a window?

I've just seen another one, MPC2500 with a discoloured ops panel. The actual plastic wasn't warm to the touch though. Is the machine sat in a dusty environment? This one was and I was thinking something in the air may be discolouring the plastic.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.

Ive seen this a few times - normally near windows tho. But if it aint broken and the customer isnt complaining....why bother? I think the only fix would be to replace the plastic.
