af1075 no display on the control panel

hi. my aficio 1075 has no display on the control panel. both the 2 green lights (main power light and the power light) are on. the red service call indicator is lit but i cant see the sc# coz there is no display. the fan underneath the control panel doesnt turn. i already replaced the control panel including the fan and the IOB but it still has no display. please help. thank you.

do any fans turn on? it sounds like either a blown fuse or a bad power supply

all fuse are ok. il check if the other fans are functional.

with the machine off:

Unplug all peripherals, adf, finisher, open the front door, open the tandem tray...

turn the machine on. if it lights up you have a pinched wire or a flaky connector to a periph...

if not

Inspect Right side Tandem tray - paper height sensors and harnesses - for short

some other possiblities: Damaged fusing connector..

check or repair - output tray harness...

Hard Drive defective

Main PSU not providing 24 or 5 VDC - Replace PSU

Main interface harness between finisher and mainframe shorted / damaged.

Replace finisher main pcb - Shorted

More often that not, this is the classic symptom of a bad power supply.

Unplug the HDD.

i disconnected all the pheripherals (adf, finisher), checked for any pinched or disconnected wire, opened all the trays, replaced the power supply, bcu, whole pcb unit, control panel from a working machine, vacuumed the machine but it still doesnt have display on the control panel. i tried moving the scanning unit to the center and turned on the machine but it doesnt return to its proper position. when i turn it on the first green light lit then short beep and the second green light lit then after a while the red service call light lits. the operator said that while she was copying a document the display just went off. please help.

Did you replace the HDD like I suggested?

yes i did and i even replaced the whole pcb unit where the hdd and controller board is installed.

it sounds like you have harness short circuit problem ,which i've encounted before. i remembered that's the first tandom

tray ' problem. when push it back to home . the sharp track (at the rear side ) cut the harness wnich is connected to the

IO board . after replace the harness .it works fine
