    [Misc] CL7000 - Transfer belt

    Hi guys,

Firstly i wish to apologise for my ignorant question. I would like to know whether the Ricoh CL7000 transfer belt accummulate the toner on to the belt (CYMB)or is the toner transfered directly on to the paper and the transfer belt is a means of "transporting" the paper through the printer.

2nd question, (this depends whether the transfer belt accummulates the toner) is whether the transfer belt is photosensetive like the OPC or does the belt transfer the toner via a charged device.

Again apologies for this question and i hope to hear back from you guys soon.

    All the Best

i had to look up that model -not the latest one out there but i do work on the 3245 series and older 2238 series copier (unfortunately) which this one is close to

    1) in normal copy/print process toner is transferred directly from the drums to the paper which is conveyed by the transfer belt
    2) i don't think belt is photosensitive but believe it does get a charge so the paper can stick to it while it moves it through. also when you do auto color calibration and registration the drums will transfer toner directly to the belt to adjust density via the sensors above and to the left of the k pcu behind a shield. this toner gets cleaned with a blade off the belt and goes into the waste bottle via cleaning unit augers
jesus loves you! (everyone else thinks you're an assh*le)
