MPC2800 SC997

Hi Chaps, Got a MPC2800 that when you select the Fax button it freezes up then displays SC997.

In the manual it suggests the follwing:
simplify the nesting of the fax group addresses

Anyone got any idea what this means? or any other ideas to sort this one out?

"simplify the nesting of the fax group addresses" To prove if this is the problem I would first copy your address book (Use WIM to save to computer) or to a sd card (sp5846-051) to save it. Then I would blow the current address book away (sp5846-050) so it is blank. Then press the fax button and see if it still freezes up. (sp5846-052 to restore address book)

SC997 is an application function selection error. If it is not the address book causing the problem. I would next go to user tools/sys settings/admin tools/ and on page 3 turn AOF - OFF.
There were firmware fix for these models with units not waking from Energy Save mode problems. Turning off AOF may be a temporary workaround if this is the issue. There were certain firmware requirements when Java card is installed and Energy Save problems. Check your Java (4.21.05 or higher) and update firmware on unit as suggested by rsyarcia.

If still not working I would pull the fax option and reseat all boards, and reseat FCU to MBU. Try again. Check wires on Line in and out make sure not grounding or touching metal.
