SC672 hard failure on a Ricoh AFicio 2060

Symptoms - After unplugging and turning on, says "Please wait". Then about 1/2 mt later goes into SC672.
This is a hard failure, nothing i've done today has recovered the copier. So far i removed re-inserted the Main controller pcb, IPU and motherboard. Also cleaned swapped both main dimms, tried with only one main dimm, removed all options and SD cards on main pcb. Tried new NVram. Tried flashing firmware with SD card. Disconnected Hdd power and cable. Re-did control panel connectors.
Copier has a Print/Scan sd card and PS card. No fax. Firmware quite old but couldnt upgrade due to 672.
After 3 hours of this messing around the 672 still recurs.
The only difference i noticed is when i install only one Main Dimm in either slot, the machine "sort of" boots up a little further and then goes into an SC990 code. Now i can enter service mode. Havent tried anything yet using service mode though.
Have ordered the Main Contr pcb and both Dimms plus Motherboard and Dimm. May consider IPU pcb and Control panel.
Any tips will be very much appreciated and thanks.

Did you try without the HDD plugged in also?

Update - the problem was fixed by replacing the Main Controller pcb and the Dimms (128mB and 256mB).
