    Aficio 2045 toner used on Aficio 2027 machine

    Can anyone in this thread give me a clue. I am a bit confused. I have a customer who says that he have been using toner meant for his old Aficio 2045 copier on his Aficio 2027 machines. Apparently the print quality is as good & sharp as when using the Aficio2027 toner. Is this possible? As both the machine bottles are different sizes he manually poured the Aficio 2045 toner into the Aficio 2027 bottle. The funny thing is the reason why he is doing this is because he has quite a lot of Aficio 2045 toner stock as a result of trade-in of his Aficio 2045 to his present Aficio 2027 models. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

      Hi,maybe you can compare the two toner bottles and see if the ingredients are similar.If may not be definitive but it will give you some idea.

          i dont believe so since they use diferent type of developer. one is type 26 and the other one type 19 or 28.

              I would have thought that they would have different melting points. If not, then maybe the only difference is the amount of developer material in the pouches.

                  It is the same developer; Exactly same ingredients but differant weight. I used the 2045 developer in 2027 Katun PCU rebuild kits. Cheaper that way

                      I think a lot of the developer is the same the only difference being the Volume in the bag, i accidently grabbed a bag for a gestetner 735 and put it in a 730 model, i had about an 1/8 of the bag left over but the machine initialized and ran just fine, i would venture to say that since most of the parts that go into a machine cross over to several other machines that most likely some models use the same toner and dev types just different sized bags or bottles. I am not sure who your customer's toner supplier is but if one of our customers upgrade we buy back/credit them for the unused toner if it isn't the same for their new model. Much happier customers that way.

                          Toner bottle is different. But oner cartridge content is same. Toner powder is same.
