I'm looking at a machine with only 215k on it, but it looks like weak developer (According to the book, dev is good for 350K) - very poor fill in the solid black areas, but the exposure looks to be right. Ideas? Thanks!

Re: MP6500 Light Copies
Actually, if the machine is not being used enough, it will have this problem. I've seen speeding up the toner feed work sometimes, you might see if a forced toner add will bring the density back, then speeding up toner feed to see if it would help. -
Re: MP6500 Light Copies
If its only on copies, and not on something that is printed I would start by cleaning the optics, and the slit glass. If prints are also doing it then I would still clean the optics, lens, slit glass and then i think you can run a manual process control with sp2962 which may adjust the toner density and id sensor. I would try the simple solutions prior to adjusting machine settings. Perhaps you had already tried these but you didn't say what steps you had done so far. Thats what I would do but it may be a long shot.Comment

Re: MP6500 Light Copies
As the MP6500 started being produced in 2006, if it's on it's original dev I'd say it's well due for a change by now. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.Comment

Re: MP6500 Light Copies
First make sure the machine is clean then what you can do is do the force toner supply after you got your desire density to the TD sensor initialization to save the amount of toner to the development unit and then perform the ID sensor Initialization and make sure you got the correct value for VSP and VSG.Comment
