Re: print from USB
Some of them can print .doc and .xls too! It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Re: print from USB
I have an MPc2551 in mind but now TonerMunkeh has me wondering. It must require special firmware to interpret the .doc and .xls, That would be a good thing for a customer but it is not on all the mfps.sigpic

Re: print from USB
I'm not aware of any limitations vs. the Network port.
USB has printed everything I've ever needed on Ricoh or otherwise.Comment

Re: print from USB
I've checked the manual and there's no mention of any other file types other than PDF, TIFF and JPEG. I've also checked the firmware updates and can find nothing there either.
That said, Tonermunkeh is a genius whose sheer level of knowledge I can never hope to attain, so if he says that it can be done then it's true. I love Tonermunkeh and want my wife to have his children. Or I would do if I ever get a wife of my own, rather than the usual rohypnol-addled wives-of-others who I persuade back to my love-nest at the weekend. Anyway, I digress...Comment

Re: print from USB
I think that this refers to a USB memory stick, not via a USB cable to a PC.

Yes Sandman, I'm talking Print from USB not Print to USB. With Print to USB, the files are Ripped on the computer before they are sent to the USB stick, but with Print FROM USB, the MFP has to have interpreting software, other wise it is just a bunch of 1's and 0's.

Re: print from USB
I've just been playing with an MPC300 on a new install, and of course the customer sees the USB slot on the side of the machine and asks "will it print from a memory stick?" My response - "good question, let's have a go". Tried it and it worked on doc. Wandered back to the machine an hour or so later and she tells me it prints Excel files too. Quite a clever little thing! It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

We'll I'll be a ham sandwich! And that is standard on the c3 and 400. So I guess the interpreter is built in at the factory level. Good show. Thanks for the update Monkeh. I think Sandman owes you a woman.sigpic
