    [Error Code] Sc221

    Hi All

    Ive been working on an MPC 4500 with error Code SC221, If you power cycle the MFD SC221 Occurs Straight Away, any help would be greatly appreciated. So far ive replaced the following parts.

    Laser Unit Assy
    IPU Board
    BCU Board
    Power Supply Unit
    LD Harness Signal
    LD Harness Data
    Door Switch assy at the front door/duplex door

    When i replaced the LD harness X 2 the MFD is was working ok for around 5 hours then i checked in with the client and Issue re occured Sc221.

      I assume you entered all new laser codes in on replacement of the ld unit?

              Replace the Laser Diode & Laser Sync detect board

                      SC 221 means Laser synchronizing detection error: start position [K]: LD1

                      Cause:
                      Disconnected cable from the laser synchronizing detection unit or defective connection
                      Defective laser synchronizing detector
                      Defective LDB
                      Defective IPU

                      Resolution:
                      1. Check the connectors
                      2. Replace the laser-synchronizing detector
                      3. Replace the LDB
                      4. Replace the IPU

                          Seriously? You're gonna replace the LD Unit without a service manual? Someone may come along with the Pages from the manual for you, but I hope not. It's just ridiculous that you wouldn't invest a few bucks in a reference manual for a job like that
