MP 7500 RX faxes all printing on 11X8/12

I have a MP 5500 and a MP 7500 that both have the same problem. When receiving a 81/2x14 fax, it prints on 2 11x8/2 sheets. There is 81/2 x 14 in both machines, user settings are to auto tray select on fax reception. What am I missing?

Try this:
Set Printer switch 03 (sp nr. 1-103-004) bit 0 set to 1, this allows the fax option to reduce the image that it fits on one page.

Second: why do you not force the fax unit to use an assinged tray?

Already have an assigned tray for the fax, priority to 8/12 x 14. I am headed there tomorrow morning, and the reduction switch is on the list. The weird thing is, you can set the machine to print on 2 sheets vs whatever the incoming document size is, but as far as I can see, it is off. This friggin install has been one of those "nothing is easy" type deals.dammit.

SOLVED. I set the paper trays up differently, fax priority to tray 2 8 1/2 x 14, sender info off. Works just fine now.

Glad you beat it to your way of thinking!

Now can you help me a bit? I never dealt with faxes until the Mp6000 and tend to spend too much time trying to figure the bit switch settings I need when I run into a problem. Is turning off the sender info what fixed the issue? If so, where do you toggle it on/off?

Yes, I believe that was the biggest factor in the repair. User tools>fax features>parameter settings>switch 02, bit 3 to "0" (print senders information). Print the parameter settings to see what everything is set to.
