We have a machine that several techs have looked into having the "Set Magenta Dev unit" message. The best fix is to just replace it and it works great for a month or so and comes back. Female connector looks great and the front plate that holds it in is in good shape. Someone tried to shim the front plate without replacing the dev unit and it was back the next day. The only thing that keeps it running for awhile is replace the magenta unit. Toner pump was also replaced recently as well. Any thoughts on this is appreciated.

Replace the magenta developer clutch as its running when it should not. What you normally get is diagonal bands in solid areas when the clutch is failing due to the machine emptying the developer from the unit. Replacing the dev unit is a temporary( and costly) fix if it only lasts for a month. So when you install the next dev unit make sure you also fit the clutch and hopefully your problem will disappear.Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential
