    Ricoh FT3013 Empty Toner Code

I replaced the toner cartridge in our FT3013 Ricoh copier after the
code appeared indicating toner was needed. It was empty.
After installing a new cartridge the copier continues to show the same
code. I cycled the copier numerous times without success. Is there
a reset or override code that will allow the copier to work? The empty
code is on and the copy button continues to show the machine is not
ready to make copies. Any assistance is very much appreciated.
    Thanks/Bagpiper55

    Hi
Sorry to bring a downer here but this machine is so old it needs to be put to rest - in a skip.
It was never the best of machines even when new.
Your problem could be due to the toner supply clutch needs cleaning and lubricating or developer need replacing.
    Good luck!

This happen's some time's when the developer goes bad, remove the toner cartridge (turn so it can't feed toner) replace the developer and initiate developer "without" toner cartridge (otherwise it feeds toner when you start up).

the cleaning blade can also be worn. not cleaning the drum and causing the vsg and vsp to give the incorrect reading. asking for toner all the time.

Hopefully I'm not way off base here, but your problem description is not clear...

You say that the machine has an 'empty toner code'? If the machine is actually giving you a code, it's not because it needs toner. If it needs toner, the toner symbol on the control panel will light up.

If the toner symbol is really what is lit (and you are calling this a code), and you have already replaced the toner and it won't go out, you may have 'crashed' developer, and will need to replace it and run the appropriate initializations.

If you are really getting a code on the machine (possibly E70?), you just need to empty the waste toner tank, and reset the code with SP 83.
Don't take that toner with me!
