    mpc 2500 fault finding

Hi guys, on said machine, when in test print mode, how do i print a colour from one drum only. On previous ricohs i could print a test pattern using just one colour, how is it done on this machine, is it select a user colour??

The reason for this question is that on some of these machines, i get bands down the edge of the copies (normally when the drums are getting worn) and would like to see which drums are causing the fault.

Even if you select a particular colour to print from, you have to select full colour in copy mode, which then prints from all drums (im sure).#

    Any suggestions??

Yes, you do this this through User Colors from the copy control panel. I think you reach it through the Edit menu at the bottom on the screen. Then choose User Color, then Custom Color. Place a blank page on the platen, choose black, cyan, magenta or yellow and hit the print key.

If you switch on SP5-618 and change data to 0 then this changes display to allow 2 color and single color

In the SP modes...5xxx you can select the test pattern desired and specify a single color from cmyk or a composite of rgb. I use this frequently for trouble shooting.

Thanks guys, much appreciated, i knew it could be done through user colour, but the sp 5618-01 will certainly help, thank you.
