FAX G3 TYPE 3500

hi guys is this type c3500 compatible to type c5000 fax interface,just installed to a mpc 5000 mfp but can't send or receive,

just been informed its a type c5000 fax option an.We have tried to connect MP C5000 fax(Single G3 Fax) using the adapter but unfortunately we cant send or receive .We have tried the same adapter with a Brother fax machine and it is sending and receiving thus we suspect we are missing something in the MFP. We are using E1 ISDN line which is been managed using MGCP by Cisco Call manager.
We have tried to check in the MP C5000 G3 Fax option manual for any settings that can be done but to no success.

thanks jomana,was using Cisco ATA 186 Adapter and cannot work with ISDN to G3,
your input much appreciated
