when Duplex copy start code 321 in Ricoh 551

when i start duplex copy in Ricoh 551 the error Code 321 start what is this

I don't know what that has to do with duplex but the code is a laser code.

SC321: No laser writing signal (F-GATE) error 1

The laser writing signal (F-GATE) does not go to LOW for more than 15 seconds
after the copy paper reaches the registration sensor.
- Possible causes -

BICU board defective

Poor connection of the printer controller

Printer controller defective

probably is your relay sensor on the registration unit or if you have a print controller could be that

Could be a problem with the duplex. The paper is not reaching the reg. roller in time. Check or replace the duplex clutches, tray 1 clutches, the reg. mylars behind the B2 door and the relay clutch in the reg. unit. The sensors already mentioned are a good idea also. Have fun.
