    Store file button

Does anybody know if you can turn off/hide the store file button on the scanning function display. My customer has a concern that the user can scan to the HDD, and then the image can be viewed on the MFP. The machihe type in question is MPC5000

    Re: Store file button

This may be the fix for you.....

Disabling the Document Server using System SP 5-967-001 and Printer SP 1-006-001

    System (Copier) SP 5-967-001
System (Copier) SP 5-967-001=1 toggles the ability to store jobs to the device hard disk. This affects:
    A) Job Types: Sample Print, Locked Print, Hold Print, Stored Print, Store and Print
    B) All functionality relating to the Document Server (e.g. storing a print job to DS, storing a file from DS interface and from Scanner interface, etc.)

    Settings:
0 (default): Enables the storage of jobs to the device hard disk.
1: Disables the storage of jobs to the device hard disk (can be partially overridden by Printer SP 1-006-001).
    Printer SP 1-006-001
Printer SP 1-006-001 = 1 overrides the effects of A. If storage of jobs to the hard disk is disabled using the above SP setting, Printer SP1-006-001 can be used to partially override this and make it possible to store all job types other than Document Server jobs to the hard disk.
    Settings:
    0 (default): Doesn't override SP 5-967-001.
1: Overrides SP 5-967-001. All job types except Document Server jobs can be stored to the hard disk.
If Printer SP 1-006-001 =1 then Sample Print, Locked Print, Hold Print, Stored Print, and Store and Print will be able to store jobs on the hard disk regardless of "System (Copier) SP 5-967-001".
Note: If the Document Server needs to be enabled but access to the WIM settings needs to be restricted, please use SP 5-885-020. For more information, please see:
Use of SP 5-885-020 to restrict access to Document Server related WIM settings. (#1) (US:118850, EU:118851, AP:118852, CN:118853)
Use of SP 5-885-020 to restrict access to Document Server related WIM settings. (#2) (US:118846, EU:118847, AP:118848, CN:118849)

      Re: Store file button

You can also restrict the viewing the Document Server in WIM so only administrators can view it.....

Use of SP 5-885-020 to restrict access to Document Server related WIM settings. (#2)

System (Copier) SP 5-885-020 bit 0, 1 and 7 restrict Web Image Monitor access to the DS.
It disables the following WIM settings:
      - The entire Document Server menu (shown in blue in fig1)
      - Job > Document Server (shown in red in fig1)
Settings:- Bit 0:Bit 0 = 0 (default): Allows anyone (guests, users, admins) access to the DS via WIM.Bit 0 = 1: Prevents everyone from accessing the DS via WIM. - Bit 1:Bit 1 = 0 (default): Allows anyone (guests, users, admins) access to the DS via WIM.Bit 1 = 1: Only administrators can access the DS via WIM.Note: Without admin privileges, even authenticated users will be unable to access the DS via WIM. - Bit 7:Bit 7 = 0 (default): Allows anyone (guests, users, admins) access to the DS via WIM.Bit 7 = 1: Only administrators and authenticated users can access the DS via WIM. The most restrictive result of combining these 3 configurations will take priority. So for example:Bit 0 = 0Bit 1 = 1Bit 7 = 1 As Bit 1 = 1 is the most restrictive of the three, it will take precedence over the other two and only administrators will be able to access the DS via WIM.
      fig1:

      Notes:
      1) For information relating to older models, please see:
Use of SP 5-885-020 to restrict access to Document Server related WIM settings. (#1)
      2) In order for 5-885-020 to have any effect, the Document Server must be enabled (SP 5-967-001=0). For information about SP 5-967-001, please see:
Disabling the Document Server using System SP 5-967-001 and Printer SP 1-006-001
      3) Access to the entire "Job" menu can be restricted using SP 5-888-001. For details, please see:
Use of SP 5-888-001 to restrict access to the "Job" menu on WIM
