    Gestetner MP171SPF & Gmail SMTP

    Hi All!
    I have a Gestetner MP171SPF and need to setup a scan to email via Gmail SMTP.
    I have successfully setup a scan to email via plain SMTP-server (non-SSL), but have no luck with Gmail SSL SMTP server.
    Please help me!
    I have the following firmware version:
    Gestetner_fw.jpg
    Tags: email, firmware, gestetner, gestetner gmail smtp, gmail, mp171spf gmail smtp, scan, scan to email, server, setup

      The 171SPF doesn't support SSL, so scanning to Gmail SMTP isnt possible.

          Is it for sure? I have that option in E-mail settings:

              Read this thread, specifically post #6 and #9. Also learn to use the SEARCH FUNCTION.
              the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.

                  I have read this thread before and didn't find a solution. I don't want to setup a dedicated server in my LAN specially for stunnel and can't change the Gmail account settings to "Don't always use https" because I use a Google Apps Account.

                      The MP171 does not suppport SMTP over SSL.
                      I'm trying to think, but nothing happens...

                          SSL is supported for a number of other functions, such as Smart Device Monitor and a few others, but not SMTP.

                          If I'm not mistaken, the MP201 The 171's replacement) will.

                                  Ok, I have setup the sending and receiving e-mails via stunnel.
                                  I have one more question: in what format should be attached document in e-mail so the Gestetner MP171SPF could print it.

                                      You can set up the scanned files to be sent as .tif or .pdf documents.

                                          I know that! I was asking in what format I must send an e-mail to the Gestetner, so he could print it. I try TIFF and PDF formats, but Gestetner couldn't print them.
                                          Those formats are supported according to this table in the manual: Receiving E-mail.pdf
                                          I found also in "Mail to Print" section of the manual that "Version 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6 PDF files are printable. However, this machine might not be able to print PDF files if they were sent from certain machines or created in certain environments." But TIFF don't printing too!
                                          When my Gestetner receives an e-mail it prints only an e-mail address of the sender and nothing more

                                              We set up multiple PDF`s as default and no hassel, as most cuzzies have "ADOBE" works sweet and stabel!!
