    MPC2051 error printer

    Hello,

I have problems printing on an MPC2051. The user prints a document, an error message appears: "the document have notbeen sent to the printer" and the document prints 10 or 15 minutes later. The fault is not regular.

    My remarks:
    Update firmware
    Change the cable network
Disconnect and reconnect the network card
Installing Drivers RPCS and PCL 6
Changing the switch port, the network jack
    No code SC

In "Printer setting" I print the error report and I have this:

RPCS - failure to receive data.
    System - 91: Error

    an idea about the problem?

Try locking in the network speed in User Tools>System Settings>Interface Settings>Ethernet Speed. Change it from Auto to 10Mbs Half Duplex. This has been the fix for me lately on devices dropping off the network (this solution is also posted in the Ricoh Global Knowledge Base.

    FYI
    Message = 91: Error
Cause = Printing was canceled by the auto job cancel function due to a command error.
Solution = Check that the data is valid.

Following your comment I make other test, but nothing conclusive.

        Another test of printer drivers:
        PCL5 AND 6
        RPCS
change the speed of network card: 10mb half duplex

I notice that when failure occur in the printer mode, the status of the copier is not READY.
        But on "waiting for data."

        have u other idea ?

If you're printing through a print server, try a direct tcp/ip connection

This can indicate that print spooling speed is very slow.

You should be getting roughly 1Mb a sec when spooling a document directly over TCP/IP.
It does vary depending on the network but that is the kind of speed I generally would be expecting to see.

I would try doing some test printing off the network with a laptop and crossover cable and see if you get the same issues.

Also if you are connecting to 1Gbit switch you may have to manually set 100Mbit full duplex on the copier as the auto speed negotiation does not always work like it should.

I have a large account with several of our machines and I've seen this problem before. It always turn out to be a network problem. One time I got away by setting the speed to 10 mb half duplex but the other times they had to fix it themselves as I could prove it that the machine was working fine by printing the same pdf file directly from my laptop with a crossover cable.
I would definetly play with all the network speed options to see if it would help.

I have had this twice and both times it was a faulty cat 5 cable going from the wall to printer.
