I got a mpc 3500 that is feint in the middle colour and b/w copy and print. CMY are fine. I had the whole lazer unit apart and cleaned mirrows and polygon mirror. It had a new drum unit, and mag roller got plenty of dev on it, even all the way.The dev is 10 k old.Tried new t/s for sake of it.My guess it's a dev unit itself. I think it was a referb so all the counters have been reset no way of knowing how old the dev unit is. Any thoughts?

Try taking the laser shutter off, it might be blocking the laser path. Also, the mylar on the front of the dev unit can be bent out of position and block the laser hitting the drum.It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

IM sure ive had this on an MPC2500 but it was intermittant - not on every copy or print. I took the laser shutter off and the fault didnt come back but I dont think you can leave it off on the MPC3500, think it comes up with an SC code.Comment

Ive just had a rethink. One of the MPC range dosnt have the laser shutter fitted....cant remember if it was the MPC3500 / 4500 or the MPC4000 / 5000....Comment

Im also having this problem, wondered if anyone knows a fix, i've got 3 other machines in close proximity so I changed the whole pcu, IT belt, stripped and cleaned laser. Fixed the laser rack open but it does come up with a SC error. Ran out of time was going to swap the whole laser unit,
Anyway any help would be appreciated.Comment
