    PCMCIA Card fault

I am trying to write a .bin file (BCU Firmware) for an oldie AF-1075 using the Memory Card Explorer downloaded from Ricoh. But i always get the message "Card type not known" during writing to card procedure. Card is PCMCIA PN : Ν803-6701. (This is the first time i use it and maybe i need some help..!!)
Thanks a lot for any input...

    Re: PCMCIA Card fault

I've not used these newer PCMCIA cards (Ν8036701) since I have a bunch of the older cards (A2309352) hanging around.
I'm guessing it's just an hardware vendor change.
The newer cards are certainly cheaper than the older cards.

Anyway the following may be of help.

    Problem
MCERICOH - XP does not detect a card that has been programmed with a specific binary file.
Typically, MCERICOH - XP indicates “Unknown” or “I/O card (not memory)” as the card type.

    Possible Cause
The data programmed in the card causes MCERICOH - XP to misdetect the card type as a
non-memory card. Because the 4MB flash memory card available from Ricoh does not have an
attribute memory, MCERICOH - XP reads the data stored in main memory (4MB area) as attribute
    information.

    Workaround
Use [Setup] – [Slot Priority & Card Detection], and select “Manual” card detection.
You have to select the correct card slot in order to avoid having MCERICOH - XP access a slot other
than the slot with the I/O card (e.g., Ethernet).

Try erasing the PCMCIA card as well before writing.
