Gestetner 1302F machine intermitenly disconnects when receiving faxes and shows quick error code #83 on confirmation report. Any ideas what this means??

Line disconnect due to timeout. Generally slowing the modem speed down will help with this. Also, if this old machine has ECM be sure to turn that off as well. -

User tools, facsimile features, parameter settings. Its in the operator manual. If you dont have that it can be downloaded from the Ricoh home page at ricoh-usa or ricoh-ap.
