Savin 4035/SR 880 finisher

I have this problem occasionally where I'm called out to a noise the finisher is making and the add staple light is on. I've replaced the staples the cartridge and the stapler. I usually get the problem resolved yet I'm not sure if it's in the staples or the cartridge. Any thoughts appreciated!!!

We use the staple refills, and I can say from experience the cartridges only last through 3 refills or so.
