    aficio 551 jamming

    hi to all,
i already cleaned all the sensors and rollers and replaced the small clutch at the right side of the duplex. it can copy a few then suddenly it jams at the duplex @ e5 doing back to back copies. when i look at it, the paper stops at the tip of the duplex and is about to enter again the registration to make the back copy.
i don't see any obstruction causing the paper to stop along its path.
what should i do? please help.
    thank you.

What is the jam code. Does it jam at all on single sided? Does it jam with different paper sizes and orientations? Need more info.

Check Lower Transport Guide Plate on duplex, it must have exact pressure on rollers above...

        What's the machine's counter on?

Have you cleaned the registration sensor and emptied out the paper dust?

Is there actually an impression/dent on the lead edge of the jammed paper, or is it getting dogeared at all?

Does this happen from all trays? When were the main feed/relay clutches last replaced, especially when were the clutches last replaced on tray 1 (which is usually the high usage tray), Also has the registration clutch itself ever been replaced?

You might have to replace the mylar guides in the registration, depending on the paper stock the customer's been running and the machine's mileage (and these are old machines now) these might have worn to the point where there's actually a hole/slit in them (this is worse if they have the optional LCT and/or if they regularly feed heavy stock through the bypass)

I've never had it with these (then again I don't have very many of these any more) but just check that there is no leakage of developer from the development unit. I have had absolute nightmares with the similar 1060/1075 type machines dumping out developer into the registration/feed units causing all sorts of jamming issues.
