    Drum units

Hi, one simple question, are Aficio 3245C drums interchangeable with AP3800c. I need a little help from a friend, No manuals at hand. Thanks

OK, it does work just change the front end of the PCUs two screws and it done.

I know that's the case for converting the 2238C to 3245C Drums, but I'm not sure about the CL7000/3800C Drums.
It seems to me that I heard that the two had different length waste toner "auger" sections at the rear, so the waste toner would just drain down into the rear drive section rather than the waste bottle, but I'm not sure at all

Wow, that sounds messy. Worth checking out.

Sandmanmac is correct about the different lengths of the waste nozzle, but the symptom you will get is the waste toner backing up in the drum unit and smearing on the drum surface (eventually it will seize up). The reason is that the spring loaded nozzle cover doesn't open because it's to short. I speak from experience

+1 here - unfortunately that's something one might recognize some time after the unit swap
