    Add staple indication on sr850

We have replaced the stapler harness, the stapler assy, the main board and the stapler cartridge. No difference.
The stapler is getting power because when you turn the machine on, the stapler initializes.
    What am I missing?
BYW it is connected to a DSm651 (2051)

I guess the tiny black flag under the staple cartridge? Is it present at the replacement cartridge?

Good thought but this is an 850, no saddle stitch

Can you pull the finisher out of the customer's and test it on another Martini or vice versa? You checked for blown fuses on the machine's PSU? With a fault this mental I think it's time to start thinking out of the box!
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.
