MPC5000 Black Toner Undetectable

This is the first I encounter this problem. Right after the customer replaced the black toner, the system status displays UNDETECTABLE. Does anyone has experience with this kind of problem? Thanks

You can switch off the this by using sp mode 5051.

Is the machine actually working? Switching off the message won't help that.

Do you mean "toner add" or undectected? Did you take toner sled cup apart and make sure mylar paddle are on inner cup? These mylars fall off and it would be like raking leaves with just the handle. Doesn't move any toner.

dougg, you're confusing this with the MP3500 type, this is the color box.

Vioksrall, if you mean it's saying "end toner" then most likely the pump has failed. If it's saying "independent supplier toner is set", that means that the current bottle (if OEM of course), was previously inserted, read by the machine and then removed and replaced by another. In this case it will still work, just advise the customer to ignore the message until it runs out or turn off the message as described above (sp5050-001 set to 1).

Opps........sorry, missed the C in the MPC5000. I work on the MPC6000 and I have had bad toner bags because the ID chip is screwed up or it can't be read down in the holder from excess toner.

The SP mode 5051 is for the message "Independent Supplier Toner is Set". I already swithed OFF that mode. My problem is, when you press the status of all the toners, the Black toner displays "UNDETECTABLE" instead of percentage of toner that is left in the respective bottles. Thanks.

Yes you are right, switching off the SP mode 5051 won't help. The machine is working but when you check the toner levels of the toners. For the black toner it displays "UNDETECTABLE" instead of percentage of the toner left inside the bottle. Thanks.

Hi! When you check the toner level staus at the screen, it displays "UNDETECTABLE" instead of percentage of toner level inside the bottle unlike MGT, YLW, CYN are working fine.. Thanks

In that case, what happens when you change sp5051-001 back to '0' and power off/on?

It displays "Independent Toner is Set..." but still when you press the toner status, the black toner lever says "UNDETECTABLE"...

Remove the black pcu and see if it has plenty of toner in the developer unit thru the gate. If its full or nearly full change your black PCU or developer. The 40 and 50 ppm machines have this issue on black only.
