Ricoh AF 3224C false toner low message

    Hello,
I do not have access to my service manual right now, and was wondering if anybody can tell me what the SP is for resetting the low toner message on the ricoh 3224c, the toner cartridge is NOT empty and machine is displaying low, i remember there is a service program to clear the message, if i remember correctly i believe it is in the 2-xxx's in sp mode.

Please PM me the service manual, or reply with the correct SP code.

    Thanks!

I'm not familiar with that code, but found this in the SP2's
    213 Toner End set
1 Toner End Set Specifies how many sheets can be printed after the toner near end message. Def 50

You may have a toner pump going out.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Not on one of these you won't. This is the updated version of the 1224c where the toner cartridge slots directly into the dev unit.

I can't remember if it was an issue with these or their predecessor, but I remember something about toner end/near end being detected via an led shining into a window at the back end of the dev unit, obviously when the toner drops below a certain level the light can be picked up by a sensor at the other end. It's been a while since I saw these on a regular basis (thank God!!) so I may be talking out of my coal chute.

I always thought that toner near end was detected by pixel count, does the machine give a light or streaky output on that particular colour?

The optical fibre is used to detect the toner level. When the light shines towards the other end, the machine has to add toner from the cartridge. Near End en Toner End is detected by pixelcount and the Toner End Sensor. If one of these mechanisms detect Near-End, the message is displayed on the operation panel.
