    Are you sure that is the complete error displayed? I'm not familiar with the old Ricoh Analogs but the manual shows all of the error codes as have 3 numbers following the "E" (ex. E101, E103, E120...). Also, all of the "E1XX" errors relate to the scanner. Really no different than the error designations used today that are called "SC". There may be something in the user manual that references that error if it's only a single digit. An E1 error on today's models indicate a problem with a firmware download.

      You have to hold down the "." key to see the last two digits of the code.

        this old machine didn't revealed three numbers it's only show example E-1 E-5 and as my friend say press ./* it's two digit's number appeared so please i request form asker to obviouse his thread but all threat's pretained to this number it's scanner problems check out mirror's and lens black box.

          These are from a different model but it may help. Add these last two digits to the E1.

          Exposure Lamp Error- The feed back signal becomes higher than 4.2 volts for 1.0 second when the exposure lamp is on, or it becomes higher than 1.0 volt for 1.0 second when the exposure lamp is off.

          Exposure Lamp Error- The feed back signal falls below .5 volt or 1.0 second when the exposure lamp is on, or the exposure lamp stays on for longer than 10 seconds.

          Zero Cross Signal Error- The CPU does not receive the zero cross signal within 2.0 seconds

          Frequency Detect. Error- The detected frequency is not within 45~65 Hz. The fusing lamp stays on for longer than 38 seconds when the main motor is off.

          Scanner HP error- The scanner HP sensor output remains de-actuated for 9 seconds after the main switch is turned on.

          Scanner HP Error- The scanner HP sensor output remains actuated for 1.0 second after the scanner starts.
