Hi

The Battery 3V on All controller board of multifunction printer Ricoh Mp171 to Mp5001

Please can someone know, the uses of battery on controller board & fax module.
what does the battery CR2205 3V done & utility on the controller board & fax module.
Brief what function it control on the two Pcb board. can we change this battery.

It holds settings on both boards when the power is disconnected. Why do you want to replace it?

Because several time the controller board have Sc code & for that i wanted to removed the battery & replace it on the board.
You tell me that it hold setting on both board and me i wanted to reset these setting when sc code appear & reconfiguration the setting to it default.

What is the SC code you get?

Removing the battery is the wrong way to reset the setting to default values. It will most likely scramble the data and cause you have to do a memory clear to reset.
You can reset setting individually in 5801. Dont use All unless you have to.
You can reset fax setting in Fax SP mode, you can reset copier setting by holding the # key and pressing Coper or Fax or Scanner icon in User Tools mode.
