2022 Sc 543

I've got a 2022 throwing a 543 code almost every morning when it first gets used. It has all the function options (print/scan and fax), and I've seen this before on other models with fax modules. The thermistors are new, firmware is up to date, and fusing idling (SP 1-103, off and temperature check).
There is also an SC 990 almost immediately after the 543, but since it's after I don't think it's a cause so much as an effect of the former code.
Has anyone had any luck with these kinds of things?

If the heat roller has been replaced recently, and an older model roller was used, it can cause strange fuser problems since the older rollers were thicker than the newer ones, but I don't know if it would cause the overheat error you are seeing. I have also seen flaky fuser connectors cause problems as well. Sometimes the wiring or connectors become brittle.

On the 1045's a connector to the middle thermistor used to become knackered. Possibly the same problem here like vk wrote.

Check the condtion of the HR and the thermistor if any doubt replace the thermistor as they are very cheap but very brittle.

As well as connections on the fusing unit, have you checked the main connection to the machine from the fusing unit. Possibly that is worn out or been puched to far back or the fusing unit is not siting in there correctly.

I would also check enviromental factors around the copier, in one office the copier was underneath a seriously powerful ac unit which was there to keep the servers cool. The machine was underneath it the network engineer or someone must have moved the ouput fins slighty while working on the server rack and it blew directly on to the machine. This resulted in 543 once the ac output was moved away it never came back.

If all els fails you can try a ups. if you in a country like south Africa the power dips and surges can cause problems!
