Ricoh 3025 Scan to SMB not authenicating with Small Business Server 2011

Our Richo aficio 3025 would scan to our server 2003 using SMB with the ip address of our server, valid user name and password. We updated to SBS 2011 and the scanner will not authenticate with the server. We have tried multiple users, using the domain address and also the Ip address. It will not work. We have a work around by scanning to one of our XP computers on the network and using a file sync program to move the files to the server. Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Also the touchscreen on this copier will not maintain the screen justification. We have to rejustify every time the screen hybernates. Since we do not have a maintenance agreement how do we take advantage of the manufacturer's replacement program on these defaulty screens?

If anybody has answers thank you advance.

Don't know for sure, but the firmware may need an upgrade to scan to SMB to SBS2011. There is a replacement program for the faulty touch screens, so the touch screen itself should not cost you much. I don't know what they charge you for labour etc.

I second that...Firmware will definitely need to be updated for SMB Scanning. I'm also not sure of the policy on screen replacements on T&M clients. You'll have to inquire with your local Dealer.

        Thank you for your help.

I have searched on the Richo site and can not find a download for a firmware update. Do they have a firmware update for this legacy machine and can you tell me where we can find an upgrade to the firmware? Other post talk about difficulties in upgrading firmware and the need for as SD card. What is an SD card and is a firmware update something a copier owner can do without experience?

Also we do not have a maintenance company in our city for these copiers. Is it possible for us to replace the screen ourself and can we get a screen from Richo?

        Again Thank you.

Firmware will not be found online, and "no" you can't perform it yourself. Precision roller sells the replacement screens to end users for $240.

It's up to you how you proceed from here.

I am showing that the Russian C4 will not be updated for the SMB2 problem. Your workaround would be to set up an older workstation using XP to act as a scan server. Scan to it and let other workstations connect to it instead of the new server.
Probably best to upgrade the machine tho as you most likely will not get a free touch screen.

Thanks for the help. We will keep aligning the screen and scanning to an xp machine until the economy improves.

Make sure the "Scans" server folder is "shared for everyone".
"Scans" is a root folder that all people scan to ?
                example :
                C:\Scans <shared=everyone>

Set subfolders under the "Scans" folder for individual use if you wish.
                Example:
                C:\Scans\Fred
                C:\Scans\Barney
                C:\Scans\Wilma
                C:\Scans\Betty

If you're using a DHCP network and it fails then try setting a fixed IP address to one PC and assign it as an SMB scan server. Everyone can log onto the fixed IP Scans PC folder. A virtual scan server so to speak.
