Aficio 3235c Print job clogging up the system

Someone has sent a print job to the above machine. It won't process it - and no one else can print.

It just says 'resetting job' but it's said that for over and hour now.

    Any speed help appreciated!

    There are two possibilities:

    1. The job on the client side is still sending data which is causing the copier to have to delete that as well, check the computer or server and delete the job from there
    2. The job is completely corrupted and the print controller cannot clear it, in which case you'll need to shut it down completely and restart. This will also clear any other jobs waiting to print on the copier side as well.

    It happens!

Thanks for the response - I will remember that for future - although, when I did turn off and back on, the jobs just continued blocking it up which was strange.

I've just come back from lunch and time appears to have done the trick - of course, I can't always wait 3 hours!

That's because the corrupted print job was still in the print queue on the network. Though whatever portion was on the mfp got deleted when you rebooted it, the print job still resided on the server and was attempting to reprint as soon as the mfp came to ready. In the future, disconnect the network cable and reboot. Then go to either the pc of the originator of the print job and delete from there or have their IT person clear it out. Then it will be safe to reconnect to the network.

I agree with you.It happened to me. I managed to solve the issue by deleting the print jobs on the client's PC.

Funnily enough I had this the other day too - some guy had left his laptop on in some darkened office and it was continually trying to resend the print job to the MFP! It did catch me out for a bit.

I find it useful to pull out the network cable and reboot the machine - if the print job doesnt return it proves it is coming from the network and you can rule out a machine issue.
