    [Misc] printing windows 7

I have a future customer at hand, he has a Aficio 240w wide format. He claims all his XP pc's print to the wide format. He upgraded to windows 7 and he is not able to print. Any suggestions would be helpful in this matter as i have not worked on one of these in a while. Thank you all in advance for your help.

Did you replace the driver with the Win7 32 or 64 bit driver.?

Just a quick question before we go on.
Is there still an XP computer conncted to it and set up as a share? Or is the entire system been changed to Win 7?
      Also which win 7, 32 or 64?

As far as i know the win xp's are working. Not sure if 64 bit or 32 bit. Customer did say that he was told by a previous technician that the firmware on the wide format needed to be updated. Not sure if i should follow that because i do not know who the previous technician was. Was wondering if anybody has had issues with the print drivers on Win 7 or if the configuration of the driver may not be correct. Trying to find out the firmware levels and documentation on how to set up the driver. Thank you all in advance.

Firmware usually doesnt relate to a print driver, but the SMB for scanning was changed by M$oft with the advent of Win 7 so if scanning fails, that needs to be addressed first.

Have they installed the correct drivers for their operating system? The CD that would have been shipped with the machine will have only contained drivers for XP at the latest?

Does the machine have a GroundWorks NIC or the Plotbase "Ratio" controller? Haven't had any dealings with "Ratio" controllers personally as A0 machines in my area are quite thin on the ground as it is and all the models I see (newer MPW types) have the standard Ricoh GW NIC, but if I remember correctly the Ratio controller needs it's own specific driver (similar to how "Fiery" controllers on MFD machines have a driver different to the standard NIC PCL/PS/RPCS).

Here's a link about what I'm talking about after I did a quick Google, looks like there are issues with the 240w with Windows 7 http://shop.j2b.com/index.php?main_p...roducts_id=336 looks like it could be pricey though....
