Ricoh Aficio 1045 not showing it has a NIC, only a parrallel interface, can't set IP

    Ricoh Aficio 1045 not showing it has a NIC, only a parrallel interface, can't set IP

    Customer's 1045 running ScanRouter. I need to change the IP due to a network reconfiguration, however, when I go to the System Settings, it only shows it has a parrallel interface. There is no plae to change the IP. The orange and green lights are lit on the NIC. In ScanROuter it says it cannot see the network device. I can't ping it because it does not have an IP set of course. Could a board have gone out? If so, could anyone tell me which one this might be? Seems the NIC is ok but maybe not? Thanks

    I dont think this model has a 5985 to turn on a nic or even a 5801-11 to clear nw setting but check those out. If not then you're looking a a controller.

      Check if the NIC is still attached to the board, if I remember correctly they had a tendency to get disconnected just enough to still have the lights one, but not enough to communicate with the machine.

        I had this problem before, I had to replace controller to fix it.

            I think that on these older products the network setting were in the Printer interface.

            Also, patterson, you didn't upload your findigs from last January 2012.

              Thought I had, thank you for the reminder. Yes, it was the controller, replaced it and it worked fine.
