Ricoh MP5000 Can't scan to network folder or email

    Hi to All

I am having a issue with an Ricoh mp5000 at work. A Ricoh tech did a firmware update but failed to resolve the issue. He now believes its not an issue with the copier but rather with our network. But I believe all the settings are correct, so before I bother IT, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas.

    Issues:

Files scanned to network folder are corrupt/incomplete. PDFs can't be openned (damaged can not be repaired )
If scanned as TIFs, only the fist page and half shows up ( second part of second page are blacked out ) third page does not even show up
the machine retries sending the scan , and eventually after the 3rd reattempt shows up as error in scan status
    • The network path to a shared folder on the server (SMB) passes connection test
Scan to email does not work either. All server info are correct.
    • SMTP also passes connection test
    EDIT*:
We can print to the machine with out any promblem

The 2 task mentioned above works fine on our other ricoh MP 5001 machine on the same network.
I looked through the configuration on both the only difference between the 2 is the firmware version and network speed.

    MP 5000:
    10 Mbps Half Duplex
firmware upgraded to 1.11.1 to 1.14

    MP 5001:
    100 Mbps Full Duplex

    Thanks !

start by replacing the ethernet cable., then try another port.

For the scan to email, make sure you increase the max email size from the default setting, that could be why only a page or two comes through that way. Also, as posted above, check ethernet cables and switch ports.
