This drafting company where my customer bought their 240w from sold them a drum . I installed it for them but I noticed a considerable difference in appearance from the ricoh origional one . Should a new ricoh origional drum look exactly the same as the one that came with the machine ? I am concerned because the customer was billed $2500.00 for this drum and if it is a generic it should have been less than half of this . The drum they sent us is a blueish colour and there are no Ricoh part numbers or any way to identify this as a Origional part. Also the two pick off fingers scored the new drum and I am not sure why or could be because this is a cheaper drum .

The blueish color drum are OEM. Original drum are greenish color. I found this http://www.aeg-photoconductor.de/fil...duct_Range.pdf -
Re: 240 W drum installation
Original drums are always the best but I have been using generaic drums in these for years without problems. Sometimes there is a slight drop off in print quality which can be adjusted out. There are also different suppliers of generaic drums and some do use a grading system as to quality from what I have been told. No problem with the pickoff fingers after the drum has been installed. On the analog wide format machines the fingers can be removed without causing any problems. I have not done this on the digital machines as I have not felt the need to remove them.Comment
